China imposed a widespread ban on coverage of last month\’s high-speed
train crash,forcing newspapers across the country to scrap pages of stories,Hong Kong newspapers reported Sunday. The Sundy Morning Post said that Chinese propaganda authorities issued a censorship order late Friday,banning all coverage of the crash\”except positive news or information released by the authorities.\”The ban came after state media published rare criticism of the government over its responce to the July 23 crash,which killed at least 40,injured almost 200 and called into question the fast expansion of China\’s high-speed rail network.

As the summer broils along we continue to fight the Gloucester Township ruling party for real reform and transparency. As of this date we are at 3/4 of our goal for petition signatures and are going before the council once again Monday 8/1/11 at the executive session to see if the council will show some courage and place the ordinance on the agenda for the next regular council meeting. Faced with hundreds of disgruntled voters lining up to sign the petition we hope they will see the light and vote their conscience. Mayor Dave Mayor who really has no place in this process, it is a legislative issue and the council President has jurisdiction, has gone on the attack in the Philadelphia Inquirer claiming that SJC has made this issue political and has backed a Republican candidate. Mr. Mayor those are lies and you know it.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard and Dartmouth will meet under the lights for the first time in football at Harvard Stadium on October 29. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.

The game had originally been scheduled for noon but was moved to 6 p.m. after Dartmouth agreed to the switch, providing fans with another option to see a night game at the historic stadium.

Haddon Heights, NJ– Today, Congressman Rob Andrews announced that the nonprofit Catholic Charities had been awarded $744,740 as part of a nation-wide effort to provide vital services to the brave men and women who have served our country. The program, entitled \”Ready Vet Go,\” will serve hundreds of veterans and their families in South Jersey. 

A grassroots lobby called the Traditional Values Coalition decided to do what the highly paid auditors of our federal government apparently never do, and research exactly how they spend their $30 billion annual budget. After months of digging, they issued this press release:

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Camden has been awarded a $744,740 grant from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs to conduct a one-year program to address the needs of low-income veterans in six counties of South Jersey.

The program is dubbed \”Ready, Vet, Go\” and will focus on housing needs.
