Camden County Exploring option of countywide police, fire

Dear Neighbors,
As I’m sure you’ve heard, the county, in the role of facilitator, has helped start a discussion among our 37 municipalities on the possibility of a countywide police and fire department. We want to keep you informed as this idea moves forward, so I wanted to share with you some details from a meeting that took place on Tuesday.

Freeholder Rodney Greco, Freeholder Ian Leonard and I hosted a meeting for mayors, police and fire chiefs at the Regional Emergency Training Center in Blackwood to give them the opportunity to share their comments on the proposal. More than 100 officials from 34 municipalities attended.

Welcome Home Major Justin Gray, of Medford Sunday at 1PM

Sunday, February 6 at 1:00 PM: 16 Foxwood Lane Medford, NJ

Please come out and welcome home Maj. Justin Gray from serving in United Arab Emirates. \"Yellowribbon2\"

He currently flies the KC-10, though this deployment is a \”non-flying\” one. He does fly once a week to keep his skills up. He is the DO over there, which is 2nd in command. He oversees flying schedules, etc. There is a video of him explaining what he does at the following linkhttp://dvidshub.net/video/102749/maj-justin-gray. He has been there since Sept. 20th. Prior to his deployment, he was an ADO for the 32d ARS at McGuire, which is the assistant to the DO. He also flew a couple of times per week and completed training as an instructor pilot (IP) of the KC-10. His family has been here since Sept. 2009.

Before his IP training he was deployed for 6 weeks. This deployment came down to him when his daughter was only 3 weeks old. So he has missed half of his daughters first year of life while serving our country.

Prior to McGuire assignment, he was stationed at Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, TX for 4 years. There he was and IP of the T-1 (a trainer jet). His main responsibility there was to train and prepare new pilots. He enabled several people to earn their wings. While there he was promoted from Captain to Major. He also served a 4 month deployment as safety officer in Iraq towards the end of his Laughlin assignment.

Prior to Laughlin he was stationed at McGuire for 3+ years for his first assignment as a pilot. He flew the KC-10 and was deployed to several different Middle Eastern locations on numerous occasions.

He received his pilot training at Laughlin AFB fresh out of college at Texas A & M. His major was mechanical engineering and he was a member of the Aggie Band and B-company Corps of Cadets.

He recently earned his Masters Degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle.

Wow, what a resume.

His wife, who provided his bio to us, is requesting a Shock and Awe on return to their home.

Please come out and show your support for this event. We have an opportunity to say THANK YOU to another one of our local heroes.

Hope to see you there.

Media welcome.
