FOX NEWS: TOUGH LOVE FROM THE GOV

NEIL CAVUTO: In the meantime, tough love from the Gov. Only this ain’t just any Gov and this ain\’t just tough love. For screaming public workers in New Jersey this is war. They are going bonkers today after Governor Chris Christie all but told them the party\’s over guys. And he is cracking down on their pensions. First, by suspending future cost-of-living adjustments. Then, rescinding a nine percent increase granted back in 2001. Then, increasing retirement ages and even changing the formula for which a lot of those benefits are set. The Governor’s also calling for state workers to kick in more for their pension and health care benefits. Common in the private sector, virtually unknown in New Jersey\’s public sector. Let us just say this news has not exactly got state workers feeling \”misty for Christie.\” The teacher’s union, the first out of the gate, promising to fight the governor. Edward L. Adamski Sr., of Gloucester City, Korean War Air Force Veteran

Loving husband of Doris \”Dolores\” (nee Dickerson). Devoted father to Edward (Anna) Adamski, Jr. and Nancy Wilding both of Gloucester City. Predeceased by his son, Stephen (surviving Shiela) Adamski. Loving grandpop of 7 and great-grandpop of 8. Son of the late Edward and Anna Adamski of Phila. Brother to Robert, Michael (Jean) Adamski and the late James, Francis and Cadmus Adamski. Edward proudly served our country in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War. He retired from Owens Corning after 32 years and from Hungerford and Terry after 10 years.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 PM and again on Monday morning from 9 to 10:15 AM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. A dignified transfer at Dover Air Force Base, Dover, Delaware

DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del., Sept. 14, 2010 – A day off is a cherished and holy time when you are deployed to the Air Force Mortuary Operations Center here.

Every military death overseas, from Alpha to Omega, comes through this mortuary. A new part of the mortuary mission, added a couple of years ago, is having families invited to see the arrival of their fallen loved one come home to U.S soil.

My primary duty as a chaplain here at the mortuary is working with the grief-shocked families when they watch the dignified transfer, but sometimes I\’m with the fallen as I help move gurneys and work with the people working with the fallen servicemembers.

PA Pheasant Season Begins October 23
HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Game Commission has slated 108,000 ring-necked pheasants for release on public lands throughout the Commonwealth for the upcoming small game hunting seasons, including 16,800 birds for the junior only season (Oct. 9-16).

The region staff will begin the stocking season Oct. 8, when the agency will release 15,000 birds (8,640 males and 6,490 females) for the junior pheasant hunt scheduled for Oct 9-16. A listing of stocking locations for the youth hunt can be found on pages 25-27 of the 2010-11 Pennsylvania Digest of Hunting and Trapping Regulations, which is provided to each license buyer.

MRC Study: ABC, CBS and NBC Tilt Debate Over Ground Zero Mosque by Hyping Accusations of Public\’s Supposed Intolerance
 \"\"By a wide margin — 66 percent to 29 percent, according to the most recent ABC News/Washington Post poll — the public is opposed to building that proposed $100 million Islamic cultural center near the site of the destroyed World Trade Towers. This is not a lightly-held opinion: more than half (53%) told ABC news they are \”strongly opposed\” to building it near Ground Zero, vs. only 14 percent who report being \”strongly\” in favor. 

 So in the face of such obvious public sentiment, are the big broadcast networks reflecting such public sentiment in their coverage? Or are journalists implicitly repudiating their viewers by touting accusations that opposition to the mosque is motivated by America’s supposed \”Islamophobia\”? 

To find out, MRC analysts reviewed all 52 stories about the Ground Zero mosque on the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts from August 14 through September 13 — the first month after President Obama propelled the issue into the headlines with his remarks at a White House dinner.
