Fishkill, N.Y. – Siena College sophomore second baseman Dan Paolini has been named the 2010 MAAC Baseball Player of the Year and headlines the 2010 All-MAAC Teams, as voted on by the MAAC\’s head coaches.

Paolini, last season\’s MAAC Rookie of the Year, posted a .368 batting average (78-212) during his second season for the Saints. He has also registered a league-best .816 slugging percentage, 62 runs scored, 64 runs batted in, 13 doubles and a conference-high 26 home runs for the Green and Gold this year.

New Jersey\’s deer herd is a major component of the landscape throughout all but the most urbanized areas of the state. Deer affect our forests, farms, gardens, backyards and roadways. From a population reduced to a handful of deer in the early 1900s they rebounded during the 20th century to a thriving herd today.

A healthy deer herd, managed at levels that are compatible with current land use practices and the human population, has great value to the people of the state. Deer are photographed, watched and hunted by many New Jerseyans and visitors from elsewhere. Deer hunters spend more than 100 million dollars each year as they enjoy approximately 1.5 million recreation-days hunting deer. Money spent in the course of deer hunting benefits a wide variety of New Jersey businesses.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (May 24, 2010) – Little League International mourns the recent passing of Mike DeBartolo, former New Jersey District 6 Administrator. He was 63.

A native of Palisades Park, N.J., Mr. DeBartolo served as a volunteer District Administrator for 12 years.

For 15 years, Mr. DeBartolo worked for the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission in Newark, N.J. He was a member of the Palisades Park Fire Department and Recreation Committee, and a former member of the Newark Board of Education.

In Palisades Park, Mr. DeBartolo served as a past president of the Palisades Park Little League prior to his election as New Jersey District 6 Administrator on Sept. 1989.

Mr. DeBartolo considered the many friends that he met through Little League, and knowing that he helped make a positive impact on our youth, as he greatest personal rewards.

Mr. DeBartolo is survived by his wife, Virginia \”Ginna\” DeBartolo, son, Michael; daughter, Melissa; sisters, Theresa Kramer, Elizabeth DeBartolo; and brother, Frank.
