Please come out to welcome home Sgt. John Sprague from his second tour in Iraq. John is a 7^th Engineer. He has been active duty at Ft. Drum, NY for 5 years and part of the Army for a total of 7 years.

He was once in the JROTC and then went on to join the National Guard. He wanted to work to defend his country. John has 4 children.

Please come out and help us make some noise in welcoming home Sgt Sprague.

John\’s family and friends are very excited and would like some assistance in making some noise on his return home.

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ-An estimated crowd of 300 people, mostly local and out of town firefighters, their family members and their supporters, packed the Gloucester City Community Hall, on Nicholson Road Thursday night (May 27, 2010) to voice their opposition to a proposed cutback in the local fire department. If there were any people who favored the reduction in force in lieu of raising taxes they soon disappeared or sat very quietly.

Five Jersey City Fire Department Workers Promoted to Battalion Chiefs

The Jersey City Fire Department (JCFD) got five new Battalion Chiefs in a swearing in ceremony held May 24 at City Hall. The promotions come as the Healy administration tries to tame overtime costs in the department that have come from a recent surge in retirements, brought on by changes to the state pension system for public workers.The administration says the promotions will save approximately $30,000 per month in overtime costs. The new chiefs will eventually see a $5,000 raise as part of the promotion, but all have agreed to forego that salary increase until July 1 of next year. The current salaries of those being promoted range from $108,000 to $113,000. Battalion Chief is the third-highest rank in the JCFD, behind Chief and Deputy Chief.

New Jersey anglers who make time to get on the water this weekend may find true $\"Fish\"$ meaning in the saying, \”Saving the Best for Last\”. This is the last week of the spring trout stocking season but certainly not the last week of great spring trout fishing in New Jersey. In fact, the Memorial Day Weekend has the potential to be the best weekend of the spring season for several reasons.

Stocked waters are now teeming with trout. The Division\’s Pequest Trout Hatchery once again exceeded the spring production goal of 570,000 trout. The Hatchery produced and stocked 606,642 trout this spring and the more than 36,000 extra trout were added to stocking runs during the last several weeks of the season.

Format Change Coming to Little League Baseball World Series in 2010

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.

The 16 qualifying teams for the 2010 Little League Baseball World Series will be playing $\"LLBWS2010Logo_152px\"$ under a new format in 2010. The culmination of more than 16,000 games over eight weeks of Little League Baseball tournament play, this year’s World Series will be played utilizing a double-elimination format in the first round. Previously, the tournament was conducted using a pool play format to reach the quarterfinal round.

The 16 teams will still be placed into four, four-team pools, the eight U.S teams on one side of the bracket opposite the eight International squads. The top team in each pool advances to the U.S. and International single-elimination championship games. The U.S. and International champions then play for the World Championship on the final day of the tournament.

Please come out to welcome home PFC Danyelle Renee Cormaney from serving in Iraq.

Danyelle made the choice to join the US Army when she was 18 yrs old. She did her Basic Training at Ft. Jackson and then moved on to Ft. Gordon for AIT.

She was then stationed at her home base at Ft Stewart. She then got her orders to deploy to Bagdad, Iraq in January 2010. In the time there she survived numerous attacks on her base but still finds the time to work a full time job, take online college classes and even fits in some softball.

She is a true American Patriot who signed the dotted line and is willing to put her own life ahead of ours.

Please come out to welcome her home at the date, time and place listed above. The Warrior Watch Riders, Yellow Ribbon Club, Gloucester City Fire and Police and the citizens of Gloucester City will be on hand to make some noise.
