Video 8 Gloucester City Firefighters Protest Layoffs

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ-An estimated crowd of 300 people, mostly local and out of town firefighters, their family members and their supporters, packed the Gloucester City Community Hall, on Nicholson Road Thursday night (May 27, 2010) to voice their opposition to a proposed cutback in the local fire department. If there were any people who favored the reduction in force in lieu of raising taxes they soon disappeared or sat very quietly.

This is one of several video clips that I took at the meeting. Sorry the quality of the film is so distorted, but the audio comes across real clear. The 9 videos will be removed from the current page Video 9 is the last of the clips. They will be removed from the current page over the next couple of days and filed in the following categories for future reference…City of Gloucester City,  Fire, Film, Gloucester City NEWS.~Bill Cleary

Countdown to PPL Park

Soccer fans across the Philadelphia region are anxiously awaiting June 27, when Philadelphia Union is slated to play their first game at their home field, PPL Park. The waterfront stadium in Chester will offer suites, a full–service club restaurant, a built–in concert stage, with seating as close to the field as regulations allow.

The team recently announced that season ticket packages have sold out, but single–game tickets are available for purchase at www.philadelphiaunion.com.
