Mrs. Wilson was born in Camden and formerly of Gloucester City. Loving mother of son John Wilson and his wife Patricia, daughter Eileen Kaufmann, son Ronald Wilson and his wife Angela. Loving grandmother of 7, John, Allison, James, Alicia, Brenda, Joshua, Angela Faith, great grandmother of 5, Dominic, Ashley, Alex, Ava, and James Anthony. She was the sister to Frank Viggino, Rose Valiant, Rita Klingensmith, and sister-in-law Connie Viggino.

Margaret would have celebrated her 84th birthday on Jan. 18, 2010. Margaret was retired, and loved her time spent with her friends in the Gloucester County Shuttle Bus. She also spent each May in sunny Florida with her daughter Eileen and family.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family 9 to 10:30 AM Thursday, January 7, 2010 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ where funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in New St. Mary\’s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1..5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

I have been fighting with the City of Gloucester City about the VETERNS MEMORIAL at Broadway and Monmouth Street for a long time about the lighting; the lights are always out. The City representatives tell me they care for it. Yet whenever I check it at night the lights for our great FLAG are always never lit.

I got tired of complaining and purposely waited 5 months until I could not take anymore and went back and complained and it still took 4 more weeks before they changed about $4 WORTH OF LIGHT BULBS.

It seems to me it’s only when a function takes place that the politicians show up so they can get noticed and maybe get their picture in the news.

Those men on those walls gave their life so we can enjoy the freedoms of today. As a war veteran I go to that wall constantly picking up trash and complaining but it fall on deaf ears. The city always finds money for its pet projects are the men on that wall not worth a few light bulbs and a little more care?

And what about my brother MARINE MARK RYAN, the man gave his LIFE and they can\’t keep his monument in the light at night. They tell me they care and take good care of that place but it has been months since MARC’s lights have been on at night. Sometimes those light lights burn all day and yet are out at night. I would urge ALL veterans to always visit the wall and not just drive by these MEN WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES DESERVE BETTER CARE.

Yes, now there are two favorite candy shops where you may come in to buy all your favorite holiday chocolates and candies. Santa’s assistant candy maker, Mike Hall and his wife Barbara, owners of both shops, are proud of Duffy’s great long-standing reputation for the last 85 years.

The Gloucester City shop is standing in the spot where there once was a Rose Garden located between the house and the store dating back to the 1800’s. Copper bowls, hundreds of molds for creating reindeer, snowmen, Santas, chocolate covered candy cones and other creative products now line the shelves in the kitchen area.

Uncle Robert Duffy taught Mike the fine art of candy making after the Halls’ bought the business. \”You have to have a passion for this type of involvement with chocolate. Our generation of leadership is being called upon to face many challenges — none of them small:

1. We have an infrastructure that is at the end of its functioning lifespan. We are being called upon to literally rebuild portions of the city brick-by-brick.

2. We are being called upon to lead the city through a local economic transition. The fishing industry remains as a solid foundation to Gloucester\’s economy and the question we are being called upon to answer is how to revitalize Gloucester Harbor in a manner compatible with the working waterfront.

3. And of course, we are gripped by the local, state and national recession, and so are called upon to make difficult choices between competing priorities.

We\’ve been called to leadership in a tumultuous time.

To respond to the call, we need a granite answer. Today more than ever, we need good government, a well-managed city, and citizen participation. Heading into the 2010-2011 term, my administration will focus on three priority areas:
