\"6a00d8341bf7d953ef0115724332f3970b-120wi\" A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Mount Ephraim, for Ellen P. Keenan, 79, of Mount Ephraim, who died November 27, 2009.

Mrs. Keenan was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Mount Ephraim.

Beloved wife of the late Francis E. \”Frank.\” Devoted mother of Sharon James and son-in-law Jack of Mount Ephraim. Loving grandmother of Lindsey James and James Murphy. Dear sister of Bridget (Richard) Cuthrell of Hawaii. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Longtime and loving friend of Marie Griffith, Catherine Wilke, Charles Keenan and Thomas Gavin.

Interment was in New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.

WILLIAM J. McGINLEY

Funeral Services were held at the convenience of the family for William J. McGinley, 87, of Bellmawr, who passed away on November 25, 2009.

Mr. McGinley was a member of the Royal Fitness Swim Club.

Beloved husband of Mary A. (nee Mauriello). Devoted father of Marlene Nugent. Step-father of Loretta Martino (Robert), Lorraine Otis and Lois Lampe. Blessed by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

GEORGE W. OSBORNE, SR.

A Funeral Mass was held at Mary, Mother of the Church, Bellmawr, for George W. Osborne, Sr., 70, of Bellmawr, formerly of Philadelphia, who passed away on November 29, 2009.

Mr. Osborne was in the Fralinger String Band for 25 years as a banjo player. He was also an Army Veteran.

Beloved husband of Signe. Devoted father of Karen Rice (Glenn), George, Jr. and John (Lisa). Loving grandfather of Ryan and Kaitlyn. Brother of Raymond, Shirley Sarkioglu and the late Jeanette Pinto, Anna Hoochuck. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Interment was in New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.

WILLIAM B. REEVES

Funeral Services were held for William B. Reeves, 52, of Bellmawr, who passed away on November 21, 2009.

He is survived by one son William B., Jr. (Angie); four brothers Alan Frederico, Barry Frederico, Edward Hill, and John Reeves; two sisters Jeanne Figueroa and Patricia Reeves; two grandchildren Dustin Tyler Reeves and Destiny Michelle Reeves; two nieces Tina Smith (Gary) Watkins and Alyssa Watkins, one nephew Edward Smith, Jr. and a special buddy Larry.

Retiring Gloucester City Employees share in benefit payouts ranging from from $500 to $100,000…Firemen and Police receive the most

A 100 plus page report titled The Beat Goes On looks at the abuse in public \"2\" employees benefit programs in 75 municipalities across the State of New Jersey.The report was released earlier this month by the State Commission of Investigation. Members include: W. Gary Edwards, Joseph R Mariniello Jr., Patrick E. Hobbs and Robert J. Martins.

Although Gloucester City was not cited in the report 19 retiring employees in that community received payouts for sick leave and vacation time that totaled nearly $500,000 in the past five years. Retiring police and firemen received the highest payouts. A complete list of the payouts appear below.

From the report summary, \”Municipal employees collecting bonuses for working on their birthdays or when they leave their jobs. Still others receive multiple paid days off for not being sick or for donating; extra cash on top of regular pay for perfect attendance at work; and paid holidays for moving personal belongings, or to go Christmas shopping..

Frank J. Spellman Jr., Retired News Journalist, WW II Army Veteran, Bronze Star Medal Recipient

\"Obit_photo.php\" Francis J. Spellman, Sr. of National Park passed away on December 13, 2009. Frank was 86 years old.

A honest and humble man, Frank possessed a great sense of humor and was fiercely devoted to his family. Frank\’s thirst for knowledge was satisfied by reading countless history and non-fiction books and solving endless crossword puzzles. Providing for his family as a news journalist, Frank enjoyed employment with the Philadelphia Inquirer, The Gloucester County Times and The Catholic Star Herald.

A US Army Veteran of WWII, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for distinguished service. A long time, devout member of Saint Matthew\’s, Frank was a familiar face at 10:30 Mass, where he served as usher for 58 years. Spending time outside in his garden growing Dahlias and being with his family were things that brought him great joy in life.

Frank is the beloved husband of 61 years to Rosemarie B. (nee Schmidt); very best dad to Francis J., Jr. (Jean) Patricia Naddeo-Cavallero (Michael), John (Sandy), Michael (Kathie), Helen Flood (Jack), Daniel, Mary K. Melnychuck (Andy)and Susan Eivich (Edward); dear brother of The Rev. John Spellman O.S.F.S. and the late Margaret, Joseph and Peter Spellman; loving grandfather of 18 and great grandfather of 5.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Frank\’s viewing on Thursday 9-11:45 AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury. Funeral Mass 12:30 PM in St. Matthew RC Church, National Park. Interment and military honors will follow at Woodbury Memorial Park, West Deptford. Faces Rival Tennessee In Maggie Dixon Classic Today at 3 PM

Teams Meet For Eighth Time in Seven Seasons and 19th Time Overall

NEW YORK, N.Y. (Dec. 9, 2009) – Rutgers women’s basketball will square off with SEC rival No. 4/3 Tennessee in the Maggie Dixon Classic this Sunday, Dec. 13 at Madison Square Garden. Tipoff is set for approximately 3:00 p.m. Prior to the match-up, No. 6/6 Baylor and Boston College will square off at 1 p.m.

The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU. Cara Capuano and LaChina Robinson have the call along with Melissa Knowles on the sidelines.

The Rutgers Radio Network, WCTC 1450 AM in New Brunswick will also broadcast the contest, with Mark Peterson and Ed Cohen providing the commentary. In addition, WRSU will call the game on 88.7 FM.

This will be third-straight year that RU (7-4) has participated in the Maggie Dixon Classic. Rutgers faced Army in each of the previous two seasons. Last year, the Scarlet Knights defeated the Black Knights 59-38.

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s basketball team had a 68-63 victory over Arcadia University in a nonconference game on Saturday night.
