BROOKLAWN-After 60 years Ponzio’ Diner in Brooklawn (Rt. 130 and Browning Road) has changed its name to the Metro Diner. The Ponzio family opened the diner in 1949. That building was located in the same area but more in the middle of the block. It looked like other diners you see in the area, silver in color and one story high. Inside there was a long counter with stools to service customers and a number of booths. I am guessing but I believe in the 1970 or there about the present building seen in the photo replaced the original diner. Much bigger with two large dinning rooms on one side and booths along with the counter and stools on the other side.

The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife\’s popular Take a Kid Hunting Program has several exciting youth hunting opportunities scheduled for this fall. Special Youth Hunts for deer, pheasant, upland birds and waterfowl are held prior to the usual statewide opening days of those seasons.

The days afford young hunters the opportunity for a quality hunting experience in a setting that encourages responsible, ethical and safe hunting practices. 

All hunts require that the hunter possess a valid youth license, and be under the direct supervision of a properly licensed, non-hunting adult 21 years of age or older. 

DRPA ANNOUNCES

On Thursday, September 17, 2009, (Nee Meade) Of Pennsauken. Formerly of Florida. Grace peacefully passed away with her family at her bedside. Preceded in death were her beautiful daughter Donnarose Migliore, adoring parents, Wilbur Meade and Charlotte and Russell Mochernuk. Beloved sisters and brother: Ella Scalise, Josephine Calabrese and Robert Mochernuk. Survived by her loving sisters and brother: Dorothy Goshey, Rosemary Lynde, Florence Buyers, Theresa Silver, Joy Makaryk and Russell Mochernuk, Jr.
