Note that Waterfowl Stamps and HIP Certifications purchased online must be printed on your computer system (there are no longer actual paper stamps being issued). Free duplicates can be generated and printed on your system if the original is lost or damaged. Hunters who purchase these items at license agents must go to a license agent for a duplicate ($2.00 fee) if the original is lost.

Christie Will Ensure Special Needs Education Funding Remains in Place

Yesterday, Chris Christie visited the Somerset Hills Learning Institute to discuss the importance of protecting special needs education and assistance funding. The education goals of a Christie-Guadagno Administration will be to prepare developmentally disabled students, as well as general education students, for employment and for life. Under a Christie-Guadagno Administration, performance measures will be put in place to make certain that the various departments serving this population, including the Department of Education, the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and the Department of Labor, are coordinating to meet the goal of integrating these students into life after school.

The 2009 Watchable Wildlife Conference will be held in Avalon/Cape May, New Jersey, October 6-8, 2009.

The NJ DEP Division of Fish and Wildlife is reminding hunters that the \’paper\’ state waterfowl (duck) stamp has been discontinued. Waterfowl hunters 16 years and older are still required to purchase a state waterfowl stamp, which is now a \”certification\” rather than a paper stamp. The certifications are available from license agents or from the Division\’s online license page at http://www.wildlifelicense.com/nj/ where they can be printed on a home computer. The price of the certification remains $5 for residents and $10 for nonresidents.
