Jayson Grossberg has revived Alphabet Soup, his BYOB in Audubon, Camden County. Mindful of the economy, Grossberg is calling it Alphabet Soup Cafe (34 W. Merchant St., 856-310-0605), and he\’s pricing the menu to encourage people to eat there more frequently.

On Wednesday morning February 11th @ approx 0900 hrs, Bellmawr Squad 32 & Squad 91 were dispatched to Route 295 South for a vehicle. Upon responding, companies were advised by communications that they were receiving multipe calls for a UPS delivery truck on fire.
Squad 32 supplied Squad 91 with water as the crew assisted with the suppression.
Squad 272 (Lawnside) was special called by Rt 295 Command (J. Houck). Two 1 3/4\” handlines were stretched and operated.
Companies operated on location for 1 hr 15 mins. to fully extinguish and overhaul the truck. Engine 33 remained off the highway to cover the (3) locals.

On February 11, 2009. Age 58. Of Gloucester City. Loving husband of 30 years to Katherine Foster (nee Fels). Loving father of Joseph R., Robert, Jr. (Shannon), Cpl. Patrick C. (Laura) Foster of the U.S. Marine Corps. Loving grandfather of Hayden R. and Dominick P. Dear brother of 7 brothers and sisters. Also survived by his loving family at Lindenwold Cab Company, where he was employed for many years.
Moose was a member of the Gloucester City Jaycees and a volunteer at the Pine Grove Fire Company in Gloucester City. He was a longtime coach for the Gloucester City Mustangs football program and Deptford Skating Center hockey league.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, (at Brown Street) Gloucester City. Catholic funeral service in the funeral home 8 pm. Cremation will be private.

It’s not the steroid use that really bothers me, though. The substances weren’t then banned from baseball. Maybe it wasn’t right, but everyone is looking for an edge. Mark it as a lesson learned and move on. What really bothers me, and what will keep these men out of the Hall of Fame, is the lying. America forgives a fool; it doesn’t excuse a liar. Rodriguez said he didn’t use steroids. Up and down denials for years. This week, he’s sorry. For what, being outed? He would have never apologized if not caught.

on February 12, 2009, (nee Mills) long time resident of Gloucester City, NJ. Age 83 years. Beloved wife of the late Walter P. Sturmfels, Sr. Loving mother of John S. Dunkirk (Ruth), Robert J. Dunkirk (Mary), Margaret Dunkirk, and Michael A. Dunkirk (Teresa), and Walter P. Sturmfels Jr. (Yvonne), Henry A. Sturmfels, Marie Finocchiaro and the late Gerald E. Sturmfels. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Charlotte was a member and Past President of Gloucester American Legion Post #135 Ladies Auxiliary, the Townsend C. Young VFW Post#3620 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a tireless fund raiser for the Jaycees.

CAMP ECHO, Iraq, Feb. 12, 2009 – Servicemembers and most runners probably would not be very impressed with a mile run in just over 10 minutes. But add to the equation a 75-pound bomb suit made of stiff material, factor in the added heat from wearing it and add a pair of rubber over-boots, and it becomes a different story.
Navy Lt. Jonathan Kehoe, commander, Platoon 602, 63rd Battalion, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobilization Unit 6, based out of Little Creek, Va., and attached to the 4th Infantry Division\’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team, decided to run here Feb. 2 for a Guinness World Record for the fastest mile in a bomb suit at Camp Echo.
With a crowd of their Iraqi EOD counterparts, servicemembers and U.S. contractors cheering him on, Kehoe completed the mile in 10 minutes and 13 seconds, beating his target time by almost three minutes.
