If I didn’t have a dog

I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety. My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated. All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture and cars would be free of hair. When the doorbell rings, it would sound like a kennel. When the doorbell rings, I could get to the door without wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there. I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted, without considering how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable. I would have money….and no guilt to go on real vacation. I would not be on a first name basis with six veterinarians, as I put their yet unborn grand kids through college.

New Jersey 2009 Deer Classic Winners

The Garden State Deer Classic is an annual event showcasing hunter entries in New Jersey’s Outstanding White-tailed Deer Program, which was initiated by the Division of Fish and Wildlife in 1964.

On Sunday, January 11, 2009, a large crowd was on hand for the awards program held at the 20th Annual Garden State Deer Classic for the top three 2007-2008 entries in each category. The 2009 Deer Classic was sponsored by the Division of Fish and Wildlife, the New Jersey State Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs (NJSFSC), United Bowhunters of New Jersey (UBNJ) and the Garden State Outdoor Sportsmen\’s Show.

Along with the winners present at the Classic, appearing in the photos on this page are, left to right: Brian Dolobacs, president of the UBNJ, Ed Cuneo, president of the NJSFSC, former DFW director Bob McDowell and retired DFW biologist Bob Lund.

Camden holds off Eastern rally to win

Camden, No. 5 in the Courier-Post Top 20, took a 51-34 lead into the fourth quarter before No. 10 Eastern, behind a 16-point explosion from Bobby Harris, cut the Camden lead to 60-59 with 1:30 left. Aaron Walton-Moss led Camden with 22 points and Takwail Bailey added 18. Harris finished with 27 for Eastern.

Lawsuit Against Gloucester City Police Dept. Moving through Federal Court System

A complaint filed on March 27, 2007 in United States District Court, District of NJ against the City of Gloucester City, Gloucester City Police Department, Gloucester City Police Chief William Crothers and Officer Joseph Eller and John Does 1 to 6 is scheduled for a status conference on Friday, January 23.

$\"Notebook_and_pen\"$ The plaintiff, Edward Boscoe of the 500 unit block of Ridgeway Street, is suing the parties above alleging that the police used excessive force during an incident in 2005.

According to court documents on March 28, 2005, in the early morning hours, Plaintiff awoke in his residence to let his dog out. His dog began to bark, leading Plaintiff to suspect that he should check outside his residence.

Plaintiff was in the process of turning on a light in the garage when the door to his garage was forced open, and Plaintiff was forcibly pulled outside by what turned out to be one or more police officers, including Defendants Eller/John Doe 6 and John Doe 1. The Plaintiff was ordered to the ground, and he complied, while stating this was his home, where he lived.

Police: Bomb threat on NJ turnpike not credible

WOODBURY HEIGHTS, N.J. — A bomb scare shut down a 30-mile stretch of the New Jersey Turnpike on Tuesday night, snarling traffic for hours before state police determined the threat was not credible. State police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Jones said troopers took a 27-year-old Massachusetts man into custody following a car stop around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in the southbound lanes of the turnpike in Woodbury Heights about six miles south of Exit 3.
