Ryne Dougherty, a 16-year-old Montclair High football player who suffered a brain hemorrhage during a recent game, has died after being removed from life support, officials said.

Dougherty died at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hackensack University Medical Center, said Nancy Radwin, a hospital spokeswoman.

Dougherty was hospitalized Monday after tackling an opposing player during a game against Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey.

On October 10, 2008. Age 74. Of Milmont Park, PA. Loving husband of the late Margaret Mary Campbell (nee Kelly). Devoted father of Michaelene Buddy, James M. (Dawn) Kelly, Margaret (Kenneth) Jansen, Karyn (Bob) Evans and George (Adair) Kelly, Jr. Loving grandfather of Tom, Todd, Jim, Steven, Jordan, Dylan, Ryan, Ken, Kelly, Sam, David (Jennifer), Ashley, Eric and Pamela. Great-grandfather of Angeliah and Shyla.

Warren proudly served our county in the U.S. Navy. He worked many years as a diesel mechanic both in the Navy and also on trucks after his retirement from the Navy.
