Funeral services were held for Elwood \”Reds\” Weeks, Jr., 61, of Mt. Ephraim who passed away on September 10, 2008.

Beloved husband of 24 years of Patricia E. (nee Young). Devoted father of Kenneth E. Weeks (Ramona), Michael S. Weeks (Teresa) and Coleen Serzanin (Robert). Loving son-in-law of Marie P. Young. Dear brother of Linda Cruise, Mary Banach (Ed), Ellen Hartzog (Delbert), Alice Max (Ed), Susan Evridge (John) and Patience Williams (Robert). Brother-in-law of William F. and Christopher Young. Also survived by nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Weeks was an auto mechanic for Sears in Moorestown for 32 years. He was a shop technician at Camden County Technical School.

 A Funeral Mass was held at Mary, Mother of the Church, Bellmawr, for Raymond A. Simpson, 63, of Bellmawr, who died September 4, 2008.

 Mr. Simpson was the proud former Chief of Bellmawr Fire Rescue #1 and was very active in all and was very active in all community projects.

 Best friend and devoted husband of 39 years of Sandee L. Loving father of Jeffrey R. (Nicole). Adoring grandfather of Sophia Rae. Beloved son of Evelyn. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Also survived by many cousins and his faithful companions: Nixon, Reagan, Jasper and Opie.

 Interment was in New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Aloysius Church, Oaklyn, for William J. Flynn, 83, of Oaklyn, who died September 8, 2008.

Mr. Flynn was born and raised in Gloucester City. He graduated from Saint Mary\’s High School (the Old Gloucester Catholic). He was a proud Army Veteran of WWII and twice recipient of the Purple Heart for his participation in the landing at Anzio Beachhead. He worked for many years as a safety manager for NJ Zinc in Gloucester City. Mr. Flynn was a member of the Welcome/Oaklyn Fire Company from 1960 to present and also served as Chief from 1979-1982. He was a Past President of the former Welcome Fire Co. in Oaklyn and served as a Police Dispatcher in Oaklyn from 1984 to 1995.

He is the beloved husband of Margaret \”Peg\”; loving father of stepsons Jack Hutchinson of Mount Laurel and Steve Hutchinson of Deptford, son William J. Flynn, Jr. of Anchorage and daughter Kathy Hunter (Walt) of Barrington and devoted grandfather of Mark Hutchinson (Mindi) of Deptford, Matt Hutchinson of Deptford, Kristi and Jeff Hunter of Barrington and great grandchildren Lucea and Maya Hutchinson and Adam Hunter. He is the dear brother of Sr. Mary Clare Flynn of the Monastery of the Most Precious Blood in Brooklyn, NY, Eileen Gougon of Pitman and Joseph Flynn of Cinnaminson.

Interment was in New Saint Mary\’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.

Franklin, the eagle, and his sidekick bird friend, Benny, spent their summer making public service announcements on television stations across the country, warning children to stay away from Postal Service delivery vehicles.

The two animated characters are now ready to head back to school with postal employees to help teachers spread the word that injuries and death can result when children get too close to delivery vehicles.

Materials targeting pre-kindergarten through second-grade school children are being distributed nationwide this month to more than 9,000 postal facilities as part of a child safety awareness program from the Postal Service and two of its unions, the National Association of Letter Carriers and the National Rural Letter Carrier\’s Association.

The materials include an animated two-minute DVD video — available in English or Spanish — featuring Franklin and Benny. The theme \”Smart children stay away from the truck\” is reinforced in numerous ways throughout this fast-paced, humorous video.

A poster, coloring book images and stickers are also available to leave with the school children to further reinforce the message.

The dangers involving children playing near vehicles is a nationwide problem involving all types of vehicles. The Kids and Cars organization has resources available on their website at www.KidsAndCars.org to help prevent these types of accidents.

Teachers or other school officials interested in having a Postal Service employee visit a school to present the video and other materials can contact their local postmaster.

JENSEN, JAMES \’JIM\’ R. Age 45, died suddenly on September 24, 2008. He lived in Glendora for the past 20 years and worked as a machinist for Midlantic Precision in Gloucester City. Jim was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding his Harley. He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann (nee Wismer), daughters Christine Jensen (Tony Mazzella), DanielleJensen all of Glendora, mother Amelia Jensen of Runnemede, brothers William, Mark and Christopher Jensen, and sisters Carol Kelly and Debbie Pasquale. Age 80, passed away September 24, 2008, at her home in Deptford.
She was a homemaker most recently, but earlier had worked at Bell Telephone in Philadelphia.
Angeline was the wife of the late Walter Sarlo, Sr. and sister of the late Rose D\’Agostino. Angeline is survived by her son Walter Sarlo, Jr. and his wife Susan of Mt. Royal.
