Gloucester City High School Graduation of the Class of 2008

Ms. Louisa Llewellyn, School Board President, presented diplomas to graduates of the Class of 2008 of Gloucester City Junior-Senior High School at Commencement Exercises June 17.at the John A. Lynch Memorial Field, located behind the high school.

Dr. Jack L. Don, Principal, presented the class and awarded the medals and special honors.

Mr. Paul Spaventa, Superintendent of Schools, awarded scholarships.

The processional was \”Pomp and Circumstance\” by Elgar.

The Class President was Ethan Casey; Vice President, Christopher Beck; Secretary, Cody Gorman and Treasurer, Kristen Marchese.

Baccalaureate Services, sponsored by the Gloucester City Ministerium for Gloucester City High School\’s Class of 2008 were Sunday, June 15, in the high school auditorium.

This year\’s service included Rev. Gary Brennan; Rev. Joyce Mooney, Highland Park and Trinity Methodist Church; Rev. Kathryn Morgan, First Presbyterian Church of Gloucester City; and Rev. Ed Rusk.

Nicholas Orsino, Class of 2008, performed \”Move On\” by JET.

Obit: VOLL (RAUCHUT) Lillian M., age 79, of Gloucester City NJ

 

On June 19, 2008, (nee Gillespie) of Gloucester City, NJ, age 79. She is the beloved wife of Charles F. Voll, Sr. and loving mother of Steven Rauchut, Elsie Perkins (Robert) and James (Linda) and Richard Rauchut (Joann Koch). Lillian is also survived by her dear brothers John and James Gillespie, sister Mary Wilke, 10 dear grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Gillespie and sisters Catherine Blaylock and Susan Larkin.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the ETHERINGTON-CRERAN FUNERAL HOME, 700 POWELL ST., GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ. Mrs. Voll’s funeral service will be held 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ. There is no evening viewing.
